Modern approaches to the geological study of territories: from data collection to the creation of 3D geological models

Prospecting and reconnaissance work performed by geological groups is a relatively inexpensive, but very informative type of geological study. According to the results of these works, depending on the task, a preliminary geological and prospecting or existing geological and structural model can be created or adjusted, search sites are ranked according to their prospects, unpromising ones are rejected, decisions are made on the refusal of licensed areas or the continuation of the search. With the use of modern technology and research methods, a telescoped analysis of geological data of various detail and integrity is performed at all stages of field work, which allows a timely decision to carry out further work. Here are examples of field work performed at various stages of prospecting and exploration of ore deposits using modern research methods, the key stages of their implementation and the results obtained are presented. The purpose of the discussion: demonstration of a technological approach to field work by geologists of the IGT group and why it is important to observe the stages of work and pay special attention to the quality of work at the pre-field stage.
