Exploration of natural resources as the basis for the development of civilization

1. Russia 9.1% of world mining.
2. The total value of Russia's natural resources is $75.7 trillion. 2012 Wall street portal:
• 1st place in the world
• 2nd place USA - 45 trillion dollars.
3. Renewable water resources - 10% of world reserves (2nd place in the world after Brazil).
4. 9% of the territory of Russia are swamps that feed river systems and fix carbon in peat, which is 47% of the world's reserves.
5. The largest producer of diamonds, palladium.
6. The largest reserves of gas, iron ore.
7. Among the top three producers of oil and gas, gold, nickel and platinum.
8. Rare earth metals - 4th place in terms of proven reserves (10% of global reserves).
Natural capital (minerals, water, bio-resources) requires predictability and professionalism when working with it. Only in this case it can be turned into human, social, natural.
The business of mining and geological companies is high-risk and long-term due to mining and geological and other risks (at a highly volatile price), at the same time, it requires huge capital investments.
The mineral resource industry is a cornerstone industry for civilization, which underlies all modern technological progress. It will not be - we will return to the Stone Age without computers, the Internet, electric vehicles, wind turbines and solar panels.
And in order to make something, you must first extract raw materials, and before mining, you need to find deposits. "Light" mineral deposits have long been found and developed, and the needs of mankind are growing all the time. Geologists are forced to go to undeveloped regions, sea depths, deep-seated and non-standard deposits on land. And this activity is all innovative, new physical reconnaissance methods, aerospace, digital technologies and artificial intelligence are used. And the prestige of the industry is low. There is no competitive salary, no career and conditions for hard work.
