Artur Uzyunkoyan was born on August 6, 1961. He studied at the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mining engineer-geology, which he successfully graduated in 1984.

Uzyunkoyan began his career as a geologist of the Yakutskgeologiya Yakutsk Geology expedition. From 1992 to 2000, he served as the head of the detachment, then the head of the party of the state unitary mining and geological enterprise Yangeologia.

Later, Artur Akopovich served as the chief geologist of the state unitary subsidiary "Upper-Indigirskaya Expedition". From 2004 to 2007 he was the chief geologist of the state unitary subsidiary Vostochno-Yakutskoye. In 2007, he became the chief geologist of Yakutskgeologia.

Since 2016, Artur Uzyunkoyan has been the Director for Geological Exploration for Solid Minerals of Rosgeologiya Joint-Stock Company. In 2018, he was appointed Deputy General Director - Head of the Geology and Science Unit.

Since 2019 A.A. Uzunkoyyan holds the position of Deputy General Director - Head of the Geology and Development Unit.
